A key aim of Art Beat and First Thursdays is to celebrate and cultivate multiple art forms and cross-pollinate communities. With this in mind, we're stoked to announce that as part of our first event, a Lady Poets live poetry performance event will be guest starring at Honeypot Cafe.
Organised and curated by Kimberley Holmes, Lady Poets is a live poetry show like no other. With tongue planted firmly in cheek and a penchant for laughter and the absurd; Lady Poets showcases a broad range of female performers with a passion for poetry, prose and performance.
In fitting with the Hollywood theme, Pseudo-lebrity will play on the theme of celebrity, fame and glamour, using words, wit and humour to address and critique these ideas and ideals. Lady Poets promises a ‘world-famous in Christchurch’ line up and a raucous poetry show. Join them for a drink and indulge in some subversive wordplay and pop-culture catharsis.
Join the fun at Honeypot Cafe, 458 Colombo St. This event will begin very soon after Gaby Montejo's Mothers event, so stick around or turn up early for a double feature!
Paparazzi and ultimate fans welcome, R16.
