Founded in 1999, Embassy has been a staple for Christchurch skaters, graffiti artists and street style connoisseurs since way back. They supply everything from skateboards, shoes and fashion, to paint, books, and artwork at 451 Colombo St where they operate as a hub for like-minded city dwellers.
Embassy plays an important role in supporting and enabling a number of well known local artists. Wongi, Ikarus and Yikes worked together with Embassy in 2011 to celebrate the relocation of the shop with a large scale mural. In 2012, the shop was transformed into a stunning gallery space, hosting a solo exhibition by Wongi.
For First Thursdays, the store will be open late, inviting new faces and regulars into the space. Meanwhile, the DTR crew will be putting some of Embassy's art supplies to work on the wall outside the shop - collaborating on an exciting brand new mural made largely possible by the generosity of James and his crew.
A celebrity shop in its own right, we're stoked to be working with this Christchurch institution!
