Fur Samples, drying - work in progress 2015

Featured Artist: Sandy Austin-Fraser

Sandy Austin-Fraser will be taking over the Annah Stretton and Phoenix windows in The Colombo for an out of this world installation. Arabella’s Got A ‘70’s Hair-Do
will present the audience with a living window display like no other.

An interstellar rock band will be protected from adoring fans by a mysterious holographic glass cage. Their ability to lip-sync and play cardboard instruments is otherworldly, but their specially-designed outfits are what truly sell albums! A shake of Arctic Monkeys, a shimmy of Bowie and a boogie of Star Wars Cantina Band, mosh along with these galactic good times.

This project has been an exploration for designer Sandy Austin-Fraser who has no background in fashion and can barely sew in a straight line. You can check out her journey to Arabella’s Got A ‘70’s Hair-Do on Instagram... but other than that, she’s pretty underground.
