We are really excited to be hosting a flash-mob Flock of native birds! #TheFlock will be popping up on the corner of Sandyford and Colombo Streets as part of First Thursdays Chch. The Flock is part of The Braided River Conservation and Management Network in NZ.
They aim to educate people about and protect and our precious rivers and the ecosystems that they support. For more information on what they do and how you can get involved or support them, visit their website.
Join the crafting table and decorate your own member of TheFlock! It will travel the country, sharing the story of some of our endangered species: the wrybill/ngutuparore, banded dotterel, black-fronted tern, Caspian tern, black-billed gull, and black stilt/kaki.
Many thanks to the volunteers from BRaid, ECan and DOC who will be taking care of the crafting table and talking about predators and endangered birds on the night.
