Form Gallery has played a key role in showcasing and retailing the work of New Zealand Contemporary Object Artists for eighteen years. An iconic space for innovative object artworks in Christchurch, it has been housed near Cathedral Square, within the Christchurch Art Gallery and now has a prime spot in Sydenham on the corner of Colombo and Sandyford Streets.
The gallery incorporates artworks in a variety of media including cast and blown glass, ceramics, jewellery and fine metal work. Hosting solo and group exhibitions, Form operates as both a retail and gallery space; introducing the wider public to emerging as well as more established Object Artists.
As part of First Thursdays, the window of the gallery will be transformed into a stage for live pottery production by ceramic artists Shona Clarkson and Jane McCulla. For further information on what will be going on, visit the blog post with all the details.
In the run up to First Thursdays; you are invited to join Form for the opening of 'Frozen land' this Friday the 26th September from 5.30pm. This exhibition is presented in association with the New Zealand IceFest. Featuring cast glass by Annabel Menzies-Joyce and Christine Cathie and ceramic by Owen Bartlett. These three artists works draw you into the landscape of the Antarctic.
