A key part of Art Beat and First Thursday's aims is to encourage artists to remain in Christchurch by creating more opportunities for artists to show their work. We aim to have a pop-up exhibition as a part of each and every First Thursdays. The very first one brings together a wide range of emerging and more established artists; celebrating their work and introducing them to a wider public audience. 

After overwhelming interest in our initial call for proposals, we had to find a larger space for the show. Fortunately, The Colombo generously offered us a large, white-walled space to install the works of over 20 artists. Blue Scarlet will still be hosting a very special, smaller exhibition - courtesy of visiting artists Hana Aoake and Zach Williams, representing Fresh and Fruity from Dunedin.
